About Us

History

Since its establishment, the Department of Sociology at the University of Ilorin has been producing a crop of graduates equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills to make significant contributions to the development of Nigeria, Africa and the global community. With its emphasis on and commitment to academic excellence and innovative thinking, the Department has grown in leaps and bounds in terms of number of resourceful academic staff and dedicated non-academic staff.  Currently, the Department has 16 academic staff. Also, its students are increasing exponentially since its inception.
