Philosophy

The Department of Sociology at the University of Ilorin actively engages in research and participates in community development programmes. It conducts research to explore and understand certain social problems affecting a particular community, and develops sustainable initiatives or programmes to address the problems. Students are also actively engaged in research and community development initiatives to enable them to gain practical skills and knowledge in this area.
